Great flick! I’m not brushed up on Mad Max lore, so forgive me if something went over my head.

The costumes, make-up, and action choreography were of course incredible. And I’m not just saying this to be a CGI cynic, but a lot of the CGI sequences looked distractingly fakey.

I love Chris Hemsworth’s Dementus. He’s a dandy! Part Heath Ledger’s Joker and part Dustin Hoffman’s Captain Hook. Not even quite a villain, he’s more chaotic neutral.

Furiosa’s little bedroom in the Citadel is cozy AF — can’t find a still from this scene at the moment.

I love Furiosa’s relationships with both Dementus and Jack. Dementus, of course, is something of a foster father, and Jack is a bit like an older brother. I don’t know if there was implied romance that just went over my head, or if I willfully ignored it, but I enjoyed that they were more like peers or siblings than lovers. It was cute.

Something that’s great about these movies is that, although they are huge-budget action flicks based on existing IP, they differ from Marvel movies in that the stakes are relatively low! Nobody’s trying to Save The Universe, which I deeply appreciate.
